DTC B15DB: Telematics Transceiver Disconnected [03/2017 - 04/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2017 - 04/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to DCM [Telematics Transceiver])
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P48-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P48-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      P48-8 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      P48-7 (IG2) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER]) 
    1. Disconnect the P45 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P97 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P45-10 (USBV) - P97-5 (USBV) Always Below 1 Ω
      P45-11 (USBG) - P97-3 (USBG) Always Below 1 Ω
      P45-10 (USBV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P45-11 (USBG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (USBV, USBG) 
    1. Disconnect the DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to DCM [Telematics Transceiver])

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P97-3 (USBG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P97-5 (USBV) - P97-3 (USBG) Engine switch on (ACC) 4.75 to 5.25 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - NAVIGATION ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P97 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.

      (to Navigation ECU)
    2. Disconnect the P103 navigation ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P97-2 (USB+) - P103-1 (USB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P97-1 (USB-) - P103-2 (USB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P97-6 (USBS) - P103-3 (USBS) Always Below 1 Ω
      P97-2 (USB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P97-1 (USB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P97-6 (USBS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 04/2020]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch off.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    5. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG

  7. CHECK NAVIGATION ECU 
    1. Replace the navigation ECU with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the engine switch off.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 90 seconds.
    5. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (NAVIGATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]
