DTC B15D9: Operation Panel Disconnected [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Check for optional components.
      1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

        Result

        HINT: 

        • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
        • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

  3. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH AND VOLUME ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the switch and volume assembly connector.

      (to Switch and Volume Assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P86-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P86-1 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH AND VOLUME ASSEMBLY - MULTI-DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the P86 switch and volume assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P42 multi-display connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P86-4 (TX+) - P42-6 (TX1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P86-8 (TX-) - P42-18 (TX1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P86-4 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P86-8 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK SWITCH AND VOLUME ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the switch and volume assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

  7. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Replace the multi-display with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2022 - 05/2023]
