ECO Switch Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ECO Switch ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly) OFF or ON OFF: ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly) not turned
      ON: ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly) turned and held at ECO position
      ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly) circuit malfunction

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ECO Switch

      OK

      ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly) condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

  2. INSPECT ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    2. Inspect the ECO switch assembly (combination switch assembly).

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

    REPLACE ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-6 (ECU) - G40-20 (ECOS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H12-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H12-6 (ECU) or G40-20 (ECOS) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
