DTC B1423: Open in Pressure Sensor Circuit / Abnormal Refrigerant Pressure [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B14B8 is not output A
      B14B8 is output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC B14B8. Refer to  DTC B14B8: Refrigerant Shortage [06/2018 - ]

  2. COMPARE REFRIGERANT GAS PRESSURE VALUES SHOWN ON TECHSTREAM AND MANIFOLD GAUGE SET 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

    6. Install a manifold gauge set.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

    7. Compare the values displayed in the Data List and on the manifold gauge set.

      Data List value and manifold gauge set value do not match and Data List value: 176 kPaG (1.8 kgf/cm2 , 26 psi) or less A
      Data List value and manifold gauge set value do not match and Data List value: 3025 kPaG (30.8 kgf/cm2 , 439 psi) or more B

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REGULATOR PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

  4. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-3 (+) - G40-6 (S5-3) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-2 (PR) or G40-24 (PRE) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the A22 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A22-1 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A22-2 (PR) or G40-24 (PRE) - Other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  11. CHECK INTERNAL CIRCUIT RESISTANCE (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-3 (+) - A22-2 (PR) Engine switch off 180 to 220 kΩ

      HINT: 

      After turning the engine switch off, wait at least 30 seconds before performing the measurement.

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-2 (PR) or G40-24 (PRE) - A22-3 (+) or G40-6 (S5-3) Always 10 kΩ or higher

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-2 (PR) - G40-24 (PRE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G40 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-1 (-) - G40-3 (SG-4) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]
