Removal [08/2016 - 12/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 INVERTER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  4. REMOVE NO. 6 INVERTER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  5. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  6. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  7. INSTALL INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2016 - ]

  8. INSTALL NO. 6 INVERTER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [08/2016 - ]

  9. INSTALL NO. 3 INVERTER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [08/2016 - ]

  10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - ]

  11. DISCONNECT HV FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the temperature sensor connector.

      *a Temperature Sensor Connector
      *b Resolver Sensor Connector
    2. Disconnect the resolver sensor connector.
    3. Disengage the clamp.
    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the rear traction motor bond cable assembly from the wire harness clamp bracket.
    5. Using an insulated tool, remove the 3 nuts and disconnect the HV floor under wire from the extension wire assembly and vehicle body.

      NOTE:

      Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.

  12. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 12/2017]

  13. REMOVE REAR TRACTION MOTOR WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an engine sling device, hold the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      WARNING:

      As the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly is heavy, hold it securely using an engine sling device.

      NOTE:
      • When removing the 2 bolts on the differential mount cushion side of the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly, make sure to hold the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly securely to prevent it from dropping.
      • Lightly shake the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly by hand to make sure it is securely held while performing work.
      • Do not shake the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly excessively while holding it.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 upper differential mount stoppers, 2 lower differential mount stoppers and rear traction motor with transaxle assembly from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      *1 Upper Differential Mount Stopper
      *2 Front Differential Support Assembly
      *3 Lower Differential Mount Stopper
      NOTE:
      • Do not drop the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • Do not damage the installation surface of the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
  14. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and differential support protector from the front differential support assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and front differential support assembly from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  15. REMOVE EXTENSION WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and extension wire assembly from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  16. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  17. REMOVE BREATHER PLUG 
    1. Remove the breather plug from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the breather plug.
