Speaker Circuit [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEAKER CIRCUIT) 
    1. *1: for LH Side

      *2: for RH Side

      *3: w/ Manual (SOS) Switch

      *4: w/o Manual (SOS) Switch

    1. Disconnect the P22 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the M9*1 and/or L9*2 front No. 1 speaker assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the J2*1 and/or J1*2 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    4. Disconnect the J3 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.
    5. Disconnect the I40 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector*3.
    6. Disconnect the O5*1 and/or N6*2 rear speaker assembly connector.
    7. Disconnect the O6*1 and/or N5*2 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connector.
    8. Disconnect the Y20 rear No. 3 speaker assembly connector.
    9. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR LH SIDE:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P22-4 (WFL+) - M9-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-19 (WFL-) - M9-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-12 (FL+) - J2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-27 (FL-) - J2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-14 (RL+) - O6-3 (+TW) Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-29 (RL-) - O6-1 (-TW) Always Below 1 Ω
      O6-4 (+) - O5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      O6-2 (-) - O5-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-4 (WFL+) or M9-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-19 (WFL-) or M9-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-12 (FL+) or J2-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-27 (FL-) or J2-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-14 (RL+) or O6-3 (+TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-29 (RL-) or O6-1 (-TW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O6-4 (+) or O5-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O6-2 (-) or O5-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH SIDE:

      I40-5 (SPO+) - J1-2 (+)*3 Always Below 1 Ω
      I40-6 (SPO-) - J1-1 (-)*3 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-15 (RR+) - N5-3 (+TW) Always Below 1 Ω

      FOR CENTER SIDE:

      P22-22 (CTR-) - J3-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-6 (WF1+) - Y20-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-21 (WF1-) - Y20-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      P22-7 (CTR+) or J3-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-22 (CTR-) or J3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-6 (WF1+) or Y20-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P22-21 (WF1-) or Y20-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 01/2019]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 01/2019]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 01/2019]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

  5. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 01/2019]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

  6. INSPECT REAR NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 01/2019]

  7. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SPI+) - 5 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (SPI-) - 6 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI+) or 5 (SPO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SPI-) or 6 (SPO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]

  8. CHECK REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

    2. Check the malfunction disappears.

      OK

      Malfunction disappears.

      HINT: 

      • Connect all the connectors to the rear No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.
      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
      • Perform the above inspection on both the LH and RH sides.
