AVC-LAN Circuit [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radio receiver assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      45 (TX3+) - 46 (TX3-) Always 60 to 80 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AVC-LAN CIRCUIT) 
    1. *: w/ Headup Display
    1. Disconnect the I38 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I42 multi-display assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the J5 combination meter mirror ECU connector*.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I38-45 (TX3+) - I42-7 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-46 (TX3-) - I42-19 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I42-6 (TX1+) - J5-12 (MPX1)* Always Below 1 Ω
      I42-18 (TX1-) - J5-13 (MPX2)* Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-45 (TX3+) or I42-7 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I38-46 (TX3-) or I42-19 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I42-6 (TX1+) or J5-12 (MPX1) - Body ground* Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I42-18 (TX1-) or J5-13 (MPX2) - Body ground* Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 
    1. Disconnect and reconnect each slave unit one by one until the master unit returns to normal operation.

      HINT: 

      • Check all slave units.
      • If disconnecting a slave unit causes the master unit to return to normal operation, the slave unit is defective and should be replaced.

      OK

      Master unit returns to normal operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]
