ECM Communication Stop Mode [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (ECM MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

      (to ECM)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A35-13 (CANH) - A35-26 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

      (to ECM)
      - -
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C48-16 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      C48-49 (E02) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      C48-50 (E01) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      C48-58 (ME01) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      C48-53 (E04) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A35-1 (BATT) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      A35-2 (+B) - Body ground Auxiliary battery voltage applied to terminal A35-46 (MREL) 11 to 14 V
      A35-3 (+B2) - Body ground Auxiliary battery voltage applied to terminal A35-46 (MREL) 11 to 14 V
      A35-37 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Power switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
