Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [05/2019 - ]

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2014 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [05/2019 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

  5. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the park/neutral position switch assembly.
    2. Remove the nut, washer and transmission control shaft lever from the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch assembly from the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly and automatic transaxle assembly.

      NOTE:

      Before removing the park/neutral position switch assembly, remove any dirt or rust on the installation portion of the transmission control shaft lever. Be sure to remove the park/neutral position switch assembly straight along the transmission control shaft lever while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the transmission control shaft lever. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch assembly cannot be reinstalled correctly.
