Removal [10/2014 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 09/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2014 - 09/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  4. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR 
  6. REMOVE BATTERY 
  7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 
  8. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Sport Package) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2016 - 05/2019]

  11. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [09/2016 - 05/2019]

  12. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    See step  3

  13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  14. REMOVE OIL COOLER HOSE 
    1. Detach the clamp from the oil cooler outlet hose.

      *1 Oil Cooler Outlet Hose
      *2 Oil Cooler Inlet Hose
    2. Slide the 4 clips and remove the oil cooler inlet hose and oil cooler outlet hose.
      NOTE:

      Use a container to catch any fluid which flows out of the oil cooler inlet hose and oil cooler outlet hose.

  15. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Detach the clamp from the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

    2. Slide the 4 clips and remove the No. 5 water by-pass hose and No. 6 water by-pass hose.

      *1 No. 5 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 6 Water By-pass Hose
      NOTE:

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 5 water by-pass hose, No. 6 water by-pass hose.

  16. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and transmission oil cooler from the front engine mounting bracket.

      NOTE:

      Use a container to catch any coolant and any fluid which flows out of the transmission oil cooler.
