Installation [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure
- INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the 2 tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
- Install the 2 tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 4 nuts.
- INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER
- Install the exhaust pipe damper to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
- Install the exhaust pipe damper to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length
41.5 mm (1.63 in.)
If the length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.
- Using a wire brush, remove any foreign matter from the gasket installation surface.
- Using a plastic-faced hammer and wooden block, tap in a new gasket until its surface is flush with the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
*1 Exhaust Manifold Converter Sub-assembly *2 Gasket *a Wooden Block NOTE:- Be sure to install the gasket so that it faces the correct direction.
- Do not reuse the gasket.
- Do not damage the gasket.
- When connecting the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly, do not push in the gasket with the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
- Install the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)
*1 Exhaust Manifold Converter Sub-assembly *2 Front Exhaust Pipe Sub-assembly *3 Gasket *a Space between flanges: 8.5 mm (0.335 in.) HINT:
After installation, check that the space between the flanges of the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly is consistent front-to-rear and left-to-right.
- Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
- INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2014 - ]
- INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
- Install the front No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly with 2 new nuts and the 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)
- Attach the wire harness clamp.
- Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
- INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
- Install a new gasket to the front No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
- Connect the 4 exhaust pipe supports to install the center exhaust pipe assembly.
- Install the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)
- INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
- Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
Minimum length
38.5 mm (1.52 in.)
If the length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.
- Using a wire brush, remove any foreign matter from the gasket installation surface.
- Using a plastic-faced hammer and wooden block, tap in a new gasket until its surface is flush with the center exhaust pipe assembly.
*1 Center Exhaust Pipe Assembly *2 Gasket *a Wooden Block NOTE:- Be sure to install the gasket so that it faces the correct direction.
- Do not reuse the gasket.
- Do not damage the gasket.
- When connecting the tail exhaust pipe assembly, do not push in the gasket with the tail exhaust pipe assembly.
- Connect the 3 exhaust pipe supports to install the tail exhaust pipe assembly.
- Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)
*1 Center Exhaust Pipe Assembly *2 Tail Exhaust Pipe Assembly *3 Gasket *a Space between flanges: 6.5 mm (0.256 in.) HINT:
After installation, check that the space between the flanges of the center exhaust pipe assembly and tail exhaust pipe assembly is consistent front-to-rear and left-to-right.
- Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.
- INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
If gas is leaking, tighten the areas necessary to stop the leak. Replace damaged parts as necessary.
HINT:
If an exhaust gas leak has been repaired, perform an inspection following the repair.
