Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    See step  1

  2. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  11

  4. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 compressor mounting bracket.

  6. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  7. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  8. REMOVE NO. 4 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 4 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the water hose sub-assembly from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    2. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 7 water by-pass hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
    4. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    5. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 7 engine wire from the oil pressure switching valve assembly.

    6. Remove the 3 bolts to disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass pipe from the cylinder block sub-assembly and No. 4 water by-pass pipe.

    7. Remove the 2 nuts, No. 1 water by-pass pipe and gasket from the water inlet housing.
  10. REMOVE NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the No. 4 water by-pass pipe.

    2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass pipe from the stiffening crankcase assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts, No. 4 water by-pass pipe and gasket from the water inlet housing.
  11. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, nut, water inlet housing and 3 gaskets.

  12. REMOVE THERMOSTAT (for Cylinder Block) 
    1. Remove the thermostat (for Cylinder Block).
    2. Remove the gasket from the thermostat (for Cylinder Block).
