Installation [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT (for Cylinder Block) 
    1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat (for Cylinder Block).
    2. Install the thermostat (for Cylinder Block) to the cylinder block assembly in the direction shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL WATER INLET HOUSING 
    1. Install 3 new gaskets.
    2. Install the water inlet housing with the 4 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Temporarily install a new gasket and the No. 4 water by-pass pipe to the water inlet housing and stiffening crankcase assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.
    2. Tighten the 2 nuts and bolt.

      for nut 

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      for bolt 

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the No. 4 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.
  4. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Temporarily install a new gasket and the No. 1 water by-pass pipe to the water inlet housing, cylinder block assembly and No. 4 water by-pass pipe with the 2 nuts and 3 bolts.
    2. Tighten the 2 nuts and 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the connector and install the No. 7 engine wire to the oil pressure switching valve assembly.
    4. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.
    5. Connect the No. 7 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.
    6. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.
    7. Connect the water hose sub-assembly to the No. 1 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.
  5. INSTALL NO. 4 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Install the No. 4 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  6. INSTALL NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Install the No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 2 bolts.

      *a Protrusion

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Install the part so that the protrusion faces upward.

  7. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.
    3. Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the engine oil level dipstick.
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 1 compressor mounting bracket with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

  9. INSTALL COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2014 - 07/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [07/2020 - ]

  10. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  3

  11. INSTALL TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2014 - ]

  12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    See step  2

  13. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2014 - ]
