Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [05/2019 - ]

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for Sport Package) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [05/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (except Sport Package) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [05/2019 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the front No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
    2. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
    4. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the PCV hose from the air cleaner hose.
    4. Detach the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the air cleaner case.
    5. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the intake air connector.
  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 sub-radiator hose.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.
    3. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the intake air connector.
  7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 4 PCV hose from the No. 2 air cleaner hose.

    2. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the No. 2 air cleaner hose.
  8. REMOVE NO. 5 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 5 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  9. REMOVE COMPRESSOR OUTLET ELBOW 
    1. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the vacuum transmitting hose assembly from the compressor outlet elbow.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nus and compressor outlet elbow.
    3. Remove the gasket from the compressor housing sub-assembly.
    4. Remove the gasket from the intake air resonator.
  10. REMOVE INTAKE AIR RESONATOR 
    1. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the intake air resonator.

  11. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2014 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  14. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay.

      Remove the 2 nuts and No. 2 manifold stay.

    3. While pressing the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly so it does not fall, loosen the exhaust pipe clamp, and then remove the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket.
  15. INSTALL STUD BOLT 
    NOTE:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.
