Removal [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Detach the claw in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      If the 2 claws are detached separately they may become damaged. Therefore, remove them at the same time.

    2. Detach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the No. 2 forward recognition cover.
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER 
    1. Detach the clip and guide and remove the No. 1 forward recognition cover as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      When removing, press the cover parallel to the windshield glass surface and remove.

  3. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION LATCH 
    1. Detach the claw in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.

    2. Detach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition latch.
  4. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    NOTE:

    If the forward recognition camera has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.

      Disconnect the connector.

      NOTE:

      Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the forward recognition camera as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force.
      • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.
  5. REMOVE FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Do not touch the internal components of the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly or press on the heater when working on the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly.

    1. Disconnect the connector.

      NOTE:

      Do not pull the harness forcibly when disconnecting the connector.

    2. Detach the connector clamp.

    3. Detach the 7 guides in the order shown in the illustration and remove the wire harness.

    4. Detach the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.

      Heater Area
      NOTE:

      Do not press the heater area.

    5. Detach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly.
