Operation Check [09/2015 - 08/2017]

  1. CHECK INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.
      Indicator/Warning Light Switch Condition Specified Condition
      BRAKE warning light Engine switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 3 seconds
      ABS warning light
      SLIP indicator light
      CRAWL indicator light
      TRAC OFF indicator light
      PCS indicator light*1
      ECO driving indicator light
      Multi-terrain select indicator light
      Turn assist indicator light
      Headlight level warning light
      AHB indicator light
      PPS warning light
      VSC OFF indicator light
      BSM indicator light*2
      Tire pressure warning light
      RSCA OFF indicator light
      SRS warning light Engine switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 6 seconds
      CHARGE warning light Engine switch off → on (IG) Illuminates when engine switch is turned to on (IG). Turns off when engine is started.
      MIL
      1. *1: w/ Pre-collision System
      2. *2: w/ Blind Spot Monitor System
  2. CHECK SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.

      Standard Indication (km/h) Acceptable Range (km/h)
      20 18.5 to 22.5
      40 38.8 to 43.3
      60 59.3 to 63.6
      80 79.5 to 84.5
      100 99.9 to 104.9
      120 120.4 to 125.4
      140 140.9 to 145.9
      160 161.4 to 166.4
      180 181.9 to 186.9
      200 202.4 to 207.4
      220 222.9 to 227.9
      240 243.4 to 248.4

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      NOTE:

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires, as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

      Reference

      Within 0.3°

  3. CHECK TACHOMETER 
    1. Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.
    2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

      DC 13.5 V, at 25°C (77°F)

      Standard Indication (rpm) Acceptable Range
      Data in () is for Reference (rpm)
      700 630 to 770
      1000 (900 to 1100)
      2000 (1850 to 2150)
      3000 2800 to 3200
      4000 (3800 to 4200)
      5000 4800 to 5200
      6000 (5750 to 6250)

      If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

  4. CHECK METER/GAUGE 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2015 - 08/2017] ).

      OK

      Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.

  5. CHECK WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2015 - 08/2017] ).

      OK

      Each warning/indicator light turns on and off using the Techstream.

  6. CHECK MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2015 - 08/2017] ).

      HINT: 

      If this Active Test is being performed and the engine switch is turned off and then on (IG), the A/T and ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the engine switch off.

      OK

      All dots in the multi-information display turn on and off using the Techstream.
