Removal [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After the power switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the auxiliary negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2020 - 11/2021]

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

  5. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the front airbag sensor. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Disconnect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

        *c CPA Upper Part *d Connector Lock is Released
      2. Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.

      3. After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the bolt.

      NOTE:
      • Loosen the bolt while holding the front airbag sensor LH because the front airbag sensor LH guide is easily damaged.
      • If the front airbag sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
    5. Detach the guide and remove the front airbag sensor LH.
