On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  9

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC LH 
  7. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS 
    1. Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the front axle hub sub-assembly.

      Maximum Looseness

      0.05 mm (0.00196 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
      • Keep the magnet of the dial indicator away from the front speed sensor.

      HINT: 

      If the looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

  8. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT 
    1. Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the front axle hub sub-assembly outside the front axle hub bolts.

      Maximum Runout

      0.05 mm (0.00196 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
      • Make sure to set the tip of the dial indicator towards the outside of the front axle hub bolts.
      • Keep the magnet of the dial indicator away from the front speed sensor.

      HINT: 

      If the runout exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

  9. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH 
  10. CONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  13

  11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  12. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  14. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
