Installation [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM NOTE:
- When replacing the rear disc brake pads with new ones, make sure to replace the rear disc brake anti-squeal shim kit at the same time.
- Do not apply lubricants to the lining surface of the brake pad.
- Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct position and direction.
- Apply brake shim grease (Part No. 08887-80409) to the rear disc brake pads and No. 1 anti-squeal shims at the positions shown in the illustration.
*1 Rear Disc Brake Pad *2 No. 1 Anti-Squeal Shim *3 No. 2 Anti-Squeal Shim *4 Inner Anti-Rattle Spring Brake Shim Grease (Part No. 08887-80409) NOTE:- Use the grease supplied with the anti-squeal shim kit or brake shim grease (Part No. 08887-80409) or equivalent.
- Do not apply grease between the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims.
- Install the inner anti-rattle springs to each of the rear disc brake pads.
- Install the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims to each of the rear disc brake pads.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD WARNING:
Be careful not to get pinched by the disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when installing the rear disc brake pads.
- Using SST, push in the rear disc brake piston.
- SST: 09719-77020
NOTE:- Make sure the brake fluid does not overflow from the reservoir.
- Do not forcibly push in the rear disc brake piston.
- for RH side:
- Install the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH to the rear disc brake pad (inner) with a new pad wear indicator retainer.NOTE:
- The rear disc brake pad with the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH must be installed to the inside position.
- When replacing the rear disc brake pads with new ones, make sure to replace the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH and pad wear indicator retainer at the same time.
- Install the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH to the rear disc brake pad (inner) with a new pad wear indicator retainer.
- Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
- Install the anti-squeal spring between the 2 rear disc brake pads.
- Install the No. 1 anti-rattle spring to the disc brake cylinder LH.
- While pressing the area (A), install the 2 hole pins (B).
- While pressing the area (A), slightly pull out the hole pin (B) from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH, and install the pin hold clip.
for RH side:
- Connect the bleeder plug cap to the rear disc brake bleeder plug.
- Connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH to the rear wheel bearing dust deflector with the 4 clamps.
- Connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH connector to the rear speed sensor RH.
- Using SST, push in the rear disc brake piston.
- CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Advanced Park)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Advanced Park)
- Connect the reservoir level switch connector.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

- Perform the following procedure if air bleeding is not necessary:
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
- Depress the brake pedal and release it.
- Clear the DTCs.

- INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (w/o Advanced Park)
- INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (w/ Advanced Park)

- INSTALL REAR WHEEL
