Removal [10/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  2. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2023]

  4. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD 
    WARNING:

    Be careful not to get pinched by the disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the front disc brake pads.

    NOTE:

    Be sure to inspect the front disc when replacing the front disc brake pads with new ones.

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - 10/2023]

    1. for RH side:
      1. Disconnect the front pad wear indicator wire connector assembly RH from the front skid control sensor wire.

      2. Disconnect the clamp (A) from the front disc brake dust cover RH.

      3. Disconnect the bleeder plug cap (B) from the disc brake cylinder assembly RH.
    2. While pressing the area (A), push the hole pin (B) toward the disk brake cylinder assembly LH, and remove the pin hold clip.

    3. While pressing the area (A), remove the 2 hole pins (B) and No. 1 anti-rattle spring.

    4. Remove the anti-squeal spring.
    5. Remove the 2 front disc brake pads from the disk brake cylinder assembly LH.

    6. for RH side:
      1. Detach the pad wear indicator retainer and remove the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the front disc brake pad.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM 
    1. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims from each of the front disc brake pads.

      *1 Front Disc Brake Pad
      *2 No. 1 Anti-Squeal Shim
      *3 No. 2 Anti-Squeal Shim
      *4 Inner Anti-Rattle Spring
    2. Remove the inner anti-rattle springs from each of the front disc brake pads.
