Removal [10/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE OIL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2021 - ]

  2. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT DAMPER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and crankshaft damper sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Using SST to hold the crankshaft pulley, loosen the crankshaft pulley set bolt. Further loosen the crankshaft pulley set bolt until 2 or 3 threads remain screwed into the crankshaft.
      • SST: 09213-54015 
        1. 09213-70020
      • SST: 09330-00021

      Turn
    2. Using SST and the crankshaft pulley set bolt, remove the crankshaft pulley.
      • SST: 09950-50013 
        1. 09951-05010
        2. 09952-05010
        3. 09953-05010
        4. 09954-05021

      HINT: 

      Apply lubricant to the threads and end of SST.

  5. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip taped, pry out the timing chain case oil seal.
      NOTE:

      After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
