Removal [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH 
    1. Remove the 2 clips, 3 bolts, screw, nut and the rear floor side member cover LH.

  2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH 
    1. Remove the 2 clips, 3 bolts, screw, nut and the rear floor side member cover RH.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 10 clips, 7 grommets, 2 nuts, 2 bolts and the No. 2 floor board sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 10 clips, 7 grommets, 2 nuts, 2 bolts and the floor board sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 exhaust pipe supports, 2 nuts and No. 3 exhaust pipe support bracket.

  6. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 12 bolts and front center floor brace sub-assembly.

  7. INSTALL SST WITH FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    When performing removal and installation for the front exhaust pipe assembly, perform work using SST in order to prevent excessive force being applied to the flexible pipe area.

    *a Flexible Pipe Area - -
    1. Install SST at the position on the flexible pipe of the front exhaust pipe assembly shown in the illustration.
      • SST: 09224-50011

      *1 Flexible Pipe of the Front Exhaust Pipe Assembly
      *a Stud Bolt Installation Area
      Pipe Clamp Retaining Bolt
      Stud Bolt Installation Area (for 2WD)
      Stud Bolt Installation Area (for AWD)
      1. Loosen the retaining bolt on the pipe clamp before installing it.
      2. Install SST to the stud bolt of the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • The installation area for SST (stud bolt) is different for 2WD and AWD vehicles.
        • Install the stud bolts using the 2 nuts removed from the No. 3 exhaust pipe support.
      3. Set the front exhaust pipe assembly on SST (pipe clamp) and tighten the pipe clamp retaining bolt.

        Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

  8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts to disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly from the converter assembly LH and converter assembly RH.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 compression springs and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust tailpipe assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 exhaust supports.
    4. Remove the 4 gaskets.
  9. REMOVE EXHAUST TAILPIPE LH 
    1. Remove the 4 exhaust pipe supports and exhaust tailpipe LH.

  10. REMOVE EXHAUST TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 exhaust pipe supports and exhaust tailpipe assembly.
