VSC does not Operate or VSC does not Operate Correctly [03/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. BRAKE PROBLEM CHECK 
    1. Check whether the slip indicator light was illuminated when VSC did not operate.

      OK

      The slip indicator light was illuminated.

      HINT: 

      When a DTC is stored, the slip indicator light is illuminated and VSC does not operate due to the fail-safe function.

    2. Check whether the vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less when VSC did not operate.

      OK

      The vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less.

      HINT: 

      VSC does not operate when the vehicle speed is 15 km/h (9 mph) or less.

    3. Check whether the vehicle was driven straight for a few seconds at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more.

      OK

      The vehicle was not driven straight for a few seconds at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more.

      HINT: 

      When the engine switch is turned on (IG), as steering sensor zero point calibration is not performed below 35 km/h (22 mph), VSC will not operate until the vehicle is driven straight for a few seconds at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Check the DTCs (electronically controlled brake system) that are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output. A
      Electronically controlled brake system DTCs are output. B

    Result: 

    REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2018 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [05/2023 - ] 

    Result:

  3. CHECK TIRES 
    1. Check that the tire of each wheel is the correct size.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to INSPECTION [05/2023 - ]

      OK

      The tire of each wheel is the correct size.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE THE TIRE OF EACH WHEEL WITH THE CORRECT SIZE

    OK

  4. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR INSTALLATION 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Check that the yaw rate sensor has been installed properly.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [04/2020 - ]

      OK

      The yaw rate sensor is tightened to the specified torque.

      The yaw rate sensor is not tilted.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    OBTAIN YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT. Refer to  CALIBRATION [03/2017 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  CALIBRATION [05/2023 - ]

    INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR INSTALLATION. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 04/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [04/2020 - ]
