DTC C1440-98: Unusual Bank Angle Detected [03/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch off.
    3. Start the engine.
    4. Perform a road test.
    5. Check if the same DTC is output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1440/98 is output. A
      DTC C1440/98 is not output. B
      yaw rate sensor DTCs are output. C

    Result:

    REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2017 - 09/2018]

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

      HINT: 

      • If the skid control ECU assembly determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU assembly stores DTC C1440/98 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
      • This is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if normal VSC operation resumes.
