Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [10/2016 - 10/2017]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2014 - 08/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2016 - 10/2017]

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2017]

  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 radiator hose.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. REMOVE COOLING FAN ECU 
    1. Disconnect the 3 cooling fan ECU connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and cooling fan ECU.
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  9. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and disconnect the wire harness.
  10. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the terminal cap.

      *1 Terminal Cap
    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire bracket.
    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire.
    4. Disconnect the generator assembly connector, and detach the 2 clamps.
    5. Remove the nut, and disconnect the generator bracket.

    6. Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly.

    7. Remove the bolt and generator bracket.

    8. Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.
    9. Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt.
