Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [09/2020 - ]

  3. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2021 - ]

  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Full Cover Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2021 - ]

  5. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE 

    See step  5

  6. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 

    See step  4 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  4 [09/2020 - ]

  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 

    See step  5 [10/2017 - 09/2020], or see step  5 [09/2020 - ]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly from the automatic transmission with transfer assembly.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
  9. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for 4WD
    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide from the cylinder block.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the No. 2 engine oil level dipstick guide.
  11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 4 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
  12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
  13. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

      *a Exhaust Manifold Sub-assembly LH
      *b Exhaust Manifold Sub-assembly RH
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst).
