Installation [08/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION WIRE 
    1. Coat the O-ring of the transmission wire with Toyota Genuine ATF WS.

    2. Install the transmission wire to the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the transmission revolution sensor (NT) connector and transmission revolution sensor (NC) connector.
    4. Connect the temperature sensor to the transmission valve body assembly with the bolt and temperature sensor clamp.

      Torque: 10.8 N*m (110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      To prevent it from being pinched between the transmission valve body assembly and the transmission case side cover, pass the transmission revolution sensor (NC) wire under the transmission wire (temperature sensor wire) as shown in the illustration.

    5. Connect the 9 solenoid valve connectors.

      NOTE:

      Do not let transmission wire protrude into this area.
      • To prevent it from being pinched between the transmission valve body assembly and the transmission case side cover, do not let the transmission wire ride up over the area shown in the illustration.
      • To prevent it from being pinched between the transmission case side cover and the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly, do not let the transmission wire protrude toward the transmission case side cover installation surface.
    6. Engage the clamp to connect the transmission wire to the solenoid lock plate.

    7. Connect the transmission wire connector and rotate the lever and engage the claw.

      HINT: 

      Rotate the lever until the claw of the transmission wire connector makes a click sound.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE SIDE COVER 
    1. Clean the transmission case side cover installation surface of the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Completely remove any oil or grease from the contact surfaces of the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.

      Area to be cleaned
    2. Temporarily install a new transmission case side cover to the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly with the 2 bolts ((A) and (B)).

      NOTE:

      To avoid damaging the gasket, prevent it from contacting the surrounding area during installation procedures.

    3. Temporarily install the 8 bolts (C).
    4. Fully tighten the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf) 

    5. Clean the installation surface of the 2 transmission vibration control rubbers of the transmission case side cover.

      Area to be cleaned
      NOTE:

      Completely remove any oil or grease from the contact surfaces of the transmission case side cover.

    6. Install 2 new transmission vibration control rubbers to the transmission case side cover.

      *d Protrusion (D)
      Installation Position
      NOTE:
      • When installing a transmission vibration control rubber, ensure that it will not protrude from the transmission case side cover by aligning it with the edge of protrusion (A) and protrusion (B) or protrusion (C) and protrusion (D) as shown in the illustration.
      • Press the entire transmission vibration control rubber by hand to ensure that it is securely installed.
  3. INSTALL OIL COOLER UNION SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pass the oil cooler union sub-assembly through 2 new gaskets and temporarily install it to the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly with the oil cooler union bolt.

      *2 Gasket
    2. Temporarily install the oil cooler union sub-assembly bracket portion to the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly with the bolt.
    3. Fully tighten the oil cooler union bolt.

      Torque: 22.6 N*m (230 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Fully tighten the bolt.

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER DYNAMIC DAMPER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  5. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. INSTALL SUSPENSION TOWER DAMPER (w/ Performance Damper) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. INSTALL VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (for Active Control Engine Mount System) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2020 - ]

  8. ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2020 - ] 

  9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 72

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 73

  12. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 74

  13. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75

  14. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH
