DTC B162A: Side Airbag Sensor Assembly No. 2 (RH) [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

      *1 Floor Side Airbag Sensor LH
      *2 Airbag ECU Assembly
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Interchange the floor side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    5. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    6. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    7. Turn the power switch off.
    8. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    9. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTCs B162A and B163A may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B162A is output. A
      DTC B163A is output. B
      DTCs B162A and B163A are not output. C
    10. Turn the power switch off.
    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    12. Return the floor side airbag sensor RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    C
