On-Vehicle Inspection [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE (VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    To prevent injury due to contact with an operating cooling fan, keep your hands and clothing away from the cooling fans when working in the engine compartment with the engine running or the power switch on (IG).

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Put the engine in Inspection Mode (Maintenance Mode).

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Inspection Mode
    5. Check the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) operation.

      1. Start the engine.
      2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.
      3. Check that air is sucked into the No. 2 ventilation hose.

        Standard

        Air is sucked into the No. 2 ventilation hose.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
