DTC B15FE-11: XM Tuner Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15FE-13: XM Tuner Antenna Circuit Open [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTION OF TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY CABLE 
    1. Check if the telephone antenna assembly cable is securely connected to the radio receiver assembly.

      OK

      Telephone antenna assembly cable is securely connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    SECURELY CONNECT TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY CABLE 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the radio receiver assembly.

      (to Radio Receiver Assembly)
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

      (to No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      XM-1 (XM) - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      XM-1a - A-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      XM-1 (XM) or A-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      XM-1a or A-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-2 - C-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-2a - C-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      B-2 or C-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B-2a - C-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  4. CHECK NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the telephone antenna assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D-2 - E-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      D-2a - E-3a Always Below 1 Ω
      D-2 or E-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D-2a or E-3a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  5. CHECK TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the telephone antenna assembly with a new or known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

      Result

  6. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    END (TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
