DTC B15DB-87: Telematics Transceiver Missing Message [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - POWER SOURCE AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G128 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G128-20 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G128-1 (+B) - Body ground IG OFF 11 to 14 V
      G128-19 (IG2) - Body ground IG ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the G146 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G128 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G146-18 (USBV) - G128-15 (USBV) Always Below 1 Ω
      G146-17 (USBG) - G128-31 (USBG) Always Below 1 Ω
      G146-18 (USBV) or G128-15 (USBV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G146-17 (USBG) or G128-31 (USBG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (USBV, USBG) 
    1. With the radio receiver assembly connectors connected, disconnect the G128 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G128-31 (USBG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G128-15 (USBV) - G128-31 (USBG) IG ON 3 V or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY -DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the G151 radio receiver assembly connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Radio Receiver Assembly)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to DCM (Telematics Transceiver))
    2. Disconnect the G130 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G151-1 (USB+) - G130-2 (USB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G151-2 (USB-) - G130-1 (USB-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G151-3 (USBS) - G130-3 (USBS) Always Below 1 Ω
      G151-1 (USB+) or G130-2 (USB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G151-2 (USB-) or G130-1 (USB-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G151-3 (USBS) or G130-3 (USBS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

      Result

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 90 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 90 seconds.
    6. Using the GTS, recheck for DTCs and proceed to the following step.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC B15DB-87 is output B

    Result: 

    END (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
