Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) 

    See step  2 [06/2018 - 09/2022], or see step  2 [09/2022 - ]

    Result

    All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed A
    None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed B

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) 

    See step  3 [06/2018 - 09/2022], or see step  3 [09/2022 - ]

    No DTCs are output A
    DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2021 - ]

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPORT MODE SWITCH, NORMAL MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Sport Mode Switch, Normal Mode Switch.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Sport Mode Switch
      Normal Mode Switch
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) operation A
      The Techstream display does not change according to the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) operation B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLES. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - ] 

    Result:

  4. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (SPORT MODE, NORMAL MODE) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to INSPECTION [08/2021 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the H12 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the H12 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the G59 and G60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the H12 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G60-6 (SPRT) - H12-3 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      G60-6 (SPRT) or H12-3 (P) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G59-10 (NORM) - H12-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      G59-10 (NORM) or H12-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the H12 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    5. Reconnect the G59 and G60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
