DTC C2198: Initialization Switch Error (for Test Diagnosis) [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

1. Disconnect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G20-11 (+DP) - G17-2 (MSM+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G20-11 (+DP) or G17-2 (MSM+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   G20-10 (+DP2) - G17-3 (MSTI)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G20-10 (+DP2) or G17-3 (MSTI) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

1. Disconnect the N8 tire pressure warning ECU and receiver connector.
2. Disconnect the G16 and G17 combination meter assembly connectors.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   N8-3 (CLSW) - G16-6 (INT)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   N8-3 (CLSW) or G16-6 (INT) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage
