Interior Light Switch Signal Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Dome Light DOOR SW Door switch signal ON or OFF ON: Door switch pressed
      OFF: Door switch not pressed

      Dome Light SW Dome light switch signal ON or OFF ON: Dome light switch ON

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

    Result: 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - ]

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G36 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P12-18 (DOOR) - G36-26 (DMDR) Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-19 (CILL) - G36-16 (DMON) Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-20 (GND9) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-18 (DOOR) or G36-26 (DMDR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P12-19 (CILL) or G36-16 (DMON) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G36 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P12 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P12-19 (CILL) - G36-16 (DMON) Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-20 (GND9) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-19 (CILL) or G36-16 (DMON) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the map light assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
