Interior Light Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system* OFF or ON Perform the Active Test with the door switch of the map light assembly on.
      1. *: Refer to System Description for the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system.

        Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [06/2018 - ] 

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Illuminated Entry System

      OK

      All lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system come on.

      Result

      NG (Dome light (map light assembly) does not come on) B
      NG (Dome light (spot light assembly) does not come on) C
      NG (Dome light (map light assembly) and dome light (spot light assembly) do not come on) D

    Result: 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - ]

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

  3. INSPECT SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spot light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the spot light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the P12 and P13 map light assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P12-14 (RIFR) - P6-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      P13-10 (RIFL) - P6-3 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      P12-14 (RIFR) or P6-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P13-10 (RIFL) or P6-3 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

  6. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P12-20 (GND9) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3D-9 - P13-4 (+B1) Always Below 1 Ω
      3D-29 - P13-9 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      3D-9 or P13-4 (+B1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3D-29 or P13-9 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3D-29 - MB-1 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  10. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Disconnect the 3K instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3D-9 - Auxiliary battery negative (-) Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 3K-1
      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → MB-23 (DOMR)
      11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3K-1 - 3D-9 Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
