Footwell Light Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Fr Foot Light Footwell light (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly) OFF or ON Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:
      • Power switch on (IG)
      • Shift lever is in any position other than P

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Fr Foot Light

      OK

      Footwell lights come on.

      Result

  2. INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT LH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the footwell light LH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the footwell light LH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FOOTWELL LIGHT LH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOOTWELL LIGHT LH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3A and 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G73-1 (E) - 3A-36 Always Below 1 Ω
      G73-2 (B) - 3D-27 Always Below 1 Ω
      G73-1 (E) or 3A-36 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G73-2 (B) or 3D-27 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the 3K instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      3D-27 - 3K-1 Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)    		 - -
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-36 - MB-26 (FSPT) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

  6. INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT RH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the footwell light RH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the footwell light RH (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    REPLACE FOOTWELL LIGHT RH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOOTWELL LIGHT RH (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3A and 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G72-1 (E) - 3A-37 Always Below 1 Ω
      G72-2 (B) - 3D-25 Always Below 1 Ω
      G72-1 (E) or 3A-37 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G72-2 (B) or 3D-25 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-37 - MB-26 (FSPT) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3K instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3K-1 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  11. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
