DTC B1508-19: Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Circuit Current Above Threshold [06/2018 - 07/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

  3. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the R9 rear combination light lens and body LH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light lens and body LH is malfunctioning.

    1. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      R9-3 (TRN) or G16-11 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the R9 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    2. Connect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the z20 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    1. Connect the z20 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A11 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  14. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Connect the A11 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G24 hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    1. Connect the R9 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Connect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the J33 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    2. Disconnect the A11 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  38. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH, OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH OR COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  39. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the R8 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Connect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the J11 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

    2. Disconnect the A12 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.
