DTC B1507-18: Turn Signal Light Circuit Current Below Threshold [08/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Operate the turn signal switch and check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      Front turn signal light (LH side) does not blink A
      Rear turn signal light (LH side) does not blink B
      Front turn signal light (RH side) does not blink C
      Rear turn signal light (RH side) does not blink D

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH)      		 - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A78-11 (TNS) - B-20 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A78-12 (GND) - B-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  3. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  4. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the headlight unit assembly LH from the headlight assembly LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ]

    2. Remove the headlight unit assembly RH from the headlight assembly RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ]

    3. Interchange the headlight unit assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    4. Check the front turn signal light (LH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Front turn signal light (LH side) does not blink)      		 A
      Front turn signal light (LH side) operates normally B

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ] 

  5. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the headlight assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Remove the headlight assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    3. Interchange the headlight assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.
      NOTE:

      Do not interchange the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH with RH.

    4. Check the front turn signal light (LH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Front turn signal light (LH side) does not blink)      		 A
      Front turn signal light (LH side) operates normally B

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A78 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A78-11 (TNS) - G16-13 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A78-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the rear combination light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Remove the rear combination light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    3. Interchange the rear combination light assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    4. Check the rear turn signal light (LH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Rear turn signal light (LH side) does not blink)      		 A
      Rear turn signal light (LH side) operates normally B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R9 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R9-3 (TRN) - G16-11 (TRNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      R9-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  9. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH)      		 - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A79-11 (TNS) - C-20 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A79-12 (GND) - C-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  10. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  11. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the headlight unit assembly RH from the headlight assembly RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ]

    2. Remove the headlight unit assembly LH from the headlight assembly LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ]

    3. Interchange the headlight unit assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    4. Check the front turn signal light (RH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Front turn signal light (RH side) does not blink)      		 A
      Front turn signal light (RH side) operates normally B

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [08/2021 - ] 

  12. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the headlight assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Remove the headlight assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    3. Interchange the headlight assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.
      NOTE:

      Do not interchange the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH with LH.

    4. Check the front turn signal light (RH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Front turn signal light (RH side) does not blink)      		 A

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A79 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A79-11 (TNS) - G16-7 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A79-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  14. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the rear combination light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    2. Remove the rear combination light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    3. Interchange the rear combination light assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    4. Check the rear turn signal light (RH side) operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (Rear turn signal light (RH side) does not blink)      		 A
      Rear turn signal light (RH side) operates normally B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R8 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R8-3 (TRN) - G16-5 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      R8-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]
