Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (STEERING SENSOR BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the G62 steering sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G62-3 (CANH) - G62-8 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G62-6 (ESS) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      (to Steering Sensor)
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G62-4 (BAT) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      G62-9 (IG1) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
