DTC C1AE8-87: Ultrasonic Sensor (Rear Right Center) Missing Message [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE CONDITION AND WORK DETAILS CHECK 
    1. Check the vehicle condition and work details.

      The clearance warning ECU assembly or ultrasonic sensor has been replaced B

    GO TO CALIBRATION. Refer to  CALIBRATION [09/2022 - ]

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (ULTRASONIC SENSOR) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the rear corner ultrasonic sensor and rear center ultrasonic sensor.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

    2. According to the display on the GTS, clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      C1AE8-87 is not output A
      C1AE8-87 is output B

    Result:

  4. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the clearance warning ECU assembly.

  5. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

    2. According to the display on the GTS, clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RH - REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RH) 
    1. Disconnect the S1 rear corner ultrasonic sensor RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the S2 rear center ultrasonic sensor RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S1-1 (BO) - S2-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      S1-2 (SO) - S2-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      S1-3 (EO) - S2-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      S1-1 (BO) or S2-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S1-2 (SO) or S2-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S1-3 (EO) or S2-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. REPLACE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RH 
    1. Replace the rear center ultrasonic sensor RH with a new or normally functioning one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

      HINT: 

      To check if the ultrasonic sensor is functioning correctly, replace it with another ultrasonic sensor.

  8. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

    2. According to the display on the GTS, clear the DTCs.

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes
