DTC P31B4-00: Extreme Hybrid/EV Battery Charging Current [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV BATTERY, HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / HV Battery and Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > HV Battery > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      "P31B4-00" only is output. A
      DTCs except "P31B4-00" of hybrid battery system are output. B
      DTCs except "P31B4-00" of hybrid control system are output. C
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    C 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2021 - ]
