Power Trunk Lid does not Operate Using Any Switches [06/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2018 - 08/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R7 luggage closer motor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R7-11 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R7-8 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Power switch off Below 1 V
      R7-10 (ECUB) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      R7-12 (B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [06/2018 - 08/2021]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

    REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]

  4. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]

    2. Inspect the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G37 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G61-2 (B) - G37-27 (TMSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      G61-1 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G61-2 (B) or G37-27 (TMSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
