DTC B2251-01: Back Door Closer Switch General Electrical Failure [08/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs

  2. DTC REPRODUCTION TEST 
    1. Wait for approximately 10 seconds.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Half Latch Switch Luggage door closer assembly (half latch switch) signal OFF or ON OFF: Luggage door closer assembly full-latched or half-latched
      ON: Luggage door closer assembly open-latched      		 -
      Pawl Switch Luggage door closer assembly (pawl switch) signal OFF or ON OFF: Luggage door closer assembly except half -latched
      ON: Luggage door closer assembly half-latched      		 -

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Half Latch Switch
      Pawl Switch

      OK

      The Data List display changes according to luggage compartment door operation.

    REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

  5. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage door closer assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the luggage door closer assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the R24 luggage closer motor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R24-3 (HAF) - R18-6 (FSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      R24-14 (PAWL) - R18-11 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      R24-3 (HAF) or R18-6 (FSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R24-14 (PAWL) or R18-11 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
