DTC B1571: Manual (SOS) Switch Green Indicator Malfunction [06/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1570, B1571 and B15C5 are output A
      DTC B1571 is output
      (DTC B1570 and B15C5 are not output)

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (GREEN INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P12 map light sub-assembly connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Sub-assembly)
    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 7 (IND2) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (GND3) of the map light assembly connector.
    4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch green indicator comes on.

      OK

      Green indicator comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G10 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P12 map light sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G10-26 (SIG-) - P12-9 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G10-26 (SIG-) or P12-9 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G10-12 (IND2) - P12-7 (IND2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G10-12 (IND2) or P12-7 (IND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 10/2019]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [06/2018 - 10/2019] 

  5. CHECK MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH GREEN INDICATOR CONDITION) 
    1. Confirm the green indicator status after the power switch is turned on (IG).

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [06/2018 - 10/2019]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Green indicator remains off A
      Green indicator remains on B

  6. INSPECT MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY (GREEN INDICATOR INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the map light sub-assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Map Light Sub-assembly)

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal P12-7 (IND2), and the negative lead to terminal P12-9 (GND3).
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG) and red indicator has turned off.

      0 V when the power switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  7. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (GREEN INDICATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 10/2019]

    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal G10-12 (IND2), and the negative lead to body ground.
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG) and red indicator has turned off.

      0 V when the power switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    NG

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 10/2019]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  9. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)
