DTC P0069-00: Manifold Absolute Pressure - Barometric Pressure Correlation [08/2020 - 08/2021]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus ES 300h, 2023 Lexus ES 300h, 2022 Lexus ES 300h, 2021 Lexus ES 300h, and 2020 Lexus ES 300h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0069-00)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0069-00 is output A
DTC P0069-00 and other DTCs are output B

      HINT:

If any DTCs other than P0069-00 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result:

GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2020 - 08/2021]

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (INTAKE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE)
    1. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 50 minutes.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List

      Tester Display
      Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure
    6. Using the following table, determine the normal atmospheric pressure for the current altitude and temperature.

      HINT:

      • Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101 kPa(abs) [15 psi(abs)].
      • For every 100 m (328 ft.) increase in altitude, atmospheric pressure drops by approximately 1 kPa (0.1 psi). This varies depending on the weather.
    7. Compare the value of the Data List item Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure with the actual atmospheric pressure.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
Approximately the same as the actual atmospheric pressure A
Not approximately the same as the actual atmospheric pressure B

    Result:

REPLACE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    Result:

    See step  3

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Atmospheric Pressure.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List

      Tester Display
      Atmospheric Pressure
    5. Using the following table, determine the normal atmospheric pressure for the current altitude and temperature.

    6. Compare the value of the Data List item Atmospheric Pressure with the actual atmospheric pressure.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
Approximately the same as the actual atmospheric pressure A
Not approximately the same as the actual atmospheric pressure B

    Result:

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [06/2018 - ]

    Result:

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]
