DTC P0195-11: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Short to Ground [08/2020 - 08/2021]: Procedure

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

HINT:

Make sure that the connector is properly connected. If it is not, securely connect it and check for DTCs again.

Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
C116-3 (VC) - C116-2 (GND)	Engine switch on (IG)	4.5 to 5.5 V
C116-4 (TOUT) - C116-2 (GND)	Engine switch on (IG)	0.54 to 4.86 V

Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
C116-3 (VC) - C116-4 (TOUT)	Engine switch off	171 to 189 kΩ

Result:

REPLACE OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR - ECM)

Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
C116-3 (VC) - C77-99 (VCPE)	Always	Below 1 Ω
C116-4 (TOUT) or C77-123 (THEO) - Body ground and other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher
