Noise Occurs only for Radio [09/2022 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK CONDITIONS AROUND THE TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED
- Check for situations/locations when noise occurs.
Result
Result Proceed to Noise occurs in all areas A Noise occurs in specific areas B
Result:
B
RADIO WAVES ARE DISTURBED (RADIO WAVE ENVIRONMENT, ETC. EXTERNAL FACTOR)
Result:
A
See step 2
- Check for situations/locations when noise occurs.
- CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL DEVICES (SUNSHADE FILM, TELECOMMICATIONS ANTENNAS, ETC)
- Check that there is no sunshade film or additional devices such as a telecommunications antenna installed.
OK
Aftermarket devices (including non-genuine wiring) are not installed.
HINT:
The vehicle is equipped with noise filters that prevent other systems in the vehicle from affecting the radio. Therefore, the system will not be affected by large interference. If the system is affected by large interference, confirm that no non-standard wire harnesses are installed, all of the noise filters are installed correctly, and the mount of the antenna is correctly earthed.
Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
NG
AFTERMARKET DEVICES ARE THE NOISE SOURCE
Result:
OK
See step 3
- Check that there is no sunshade film or additional devices such as a telecommunications antenna installed.
- CHECK RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the connector RA from the radio receiver assembly. Then operate the radio receiver assembly again to check for noise.
Result
Result Proceed to Noise does not occur A Noise occurs B
Result:
B
REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
Result:
A
See step 4
- Disconnect the connector RA from the radio receiver assembly. Then operate the radio receiver assembly again to check for noise.
- CHECK INSTALLATION OF ANTENNA EARTH
- Make sure that the mount of the antenna cord sub-assembly is earthed securely to the vehicle body.
- Make sure that the mount of the No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly is earthed securely to the vehicle body.
OK
Installation is normal
Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
NG
PROPERLY INSTALL ANTENNA EARTH
Result:
OK
See step 5
- INSPECT NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (DISCONNECT CONNECTOR)
- With the connector between the No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly and No. 1 amplifier antenna assembly disconnected, operate the radio receiver assembly again and check for noise.
Result
Result Proceed to Noise occurs A Noise does not occur B
Result:
B
REPLACE NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]
Result:
A
See step 6
- With the connector between the No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly and No. 1 amplifier antenna assembly disconnected, operate the radio receiver assembly again and check for noise.
- INSPECT NO. 1 AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (DISCONNECT CONNECTOR)
- With the connector between the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly and No. 1 amplifier antenna assembly disconnected, operate the radio receiver assembly again and check for noise.
