Removal [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 
    1. Remove the clip (A), 2 screws and 4 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips (B) to remove the front floor cover LH.
  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1) 
    WARNING:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

    1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    2. Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.
    3. Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

      • SST: 09224-00011 
      NOTE:

      If the heated oxygen sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front exhaust pipe assembly from the No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    4. Loosen the bolt (A).

    5. Remove the 2 bolts (B) and exhaust pipe support bracket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
    6. Remove the 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
    7. Remove the 2 exhaust pipe gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
  4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2) 
    1. Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      • SST: 09224-00011 
      NOTE:

      If the heated oxygen sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
