DTC B1570-11: Indicator (Red) Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B1570-13: Indicator (Red) Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

1. Turn the power switch off.
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Clear the DTCs.

   Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

   Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

   OK

   No DTCs are output.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

   *a	Component without harness connected (Map Light Assembly (Manual (SOS) Switch))

   Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 6 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (GND3) of the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

   OK

   Manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

1. Disconnect the J157 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
2. Disconnect the U12 map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   J157-4 (IND1) - U12-6 (IND1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   J157-4 (IND1) or U12-6 (IND1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

   Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

   NOTE:

   • The power switch must be off.
   • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
