DTC C1AED: Rear Sensor Communication Malfunction [08/2016 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. INITIALIZE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR AND NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR 
    1. Initialize the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear left and rear right sensor) and No. 4 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center and rear right center sensor).

      Refer to CALIBRATION [08/2016 - 03/2018] , or refer to CALIBRATION [03/2018 - 08/2019]

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (C1AED) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Advanced Parking Guidance/ICS/Intuitive P/A > Trouble Codes 

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Advanced Parking Guidance/ICS/Intuitive P/A > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Advanced Parking Guidance/ICS/Intuitive P/A > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTC C1AED is output A
      No DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2016 - 12/2017]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2017 - 03/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2018 - 08/2019]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR RIGHT SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the J38 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Y1 No. 3 ultrasonic sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J38-22 (BOR) - Y1-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      J38-24 (SOR) - Y1-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      J38-23 (E1) - Y1-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      J38-22 (BOR) or Y1-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J38-24 (SOR) or Y1-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J38-23 (E1) or Y1-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR - REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the Y2 No. 4 ultrasonic sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y1-1 (BO) - Y2-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-2 (SO) - Y2-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-3 (EO) - Y2-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-1 (BO) or Y2-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y1-2 (SO) or Y2-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y1-3 (EO) or Y2-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR - REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the Y3 No. 4 ultrasonic sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y2-1 (BO) - Y3-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y2-2 (SO) - Y3-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y2-3 (EO) - Y3-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y2-1 (BO) or Y3-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y2-2 (SO) or Y3-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y2-3 (EO) or Y3-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the Y4 No. 3 ultrasonic sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y3-1 (BO) - Y4-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y3-2 (SO) - Y4-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y3-3 (EO) - Y4-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y3-1 (BO) or Y4-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y3-2 (SO) or Y4-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
